चिकित्सितं व्याधिहरं पथ्यं साधनमौषधम् |
प्रायश्चित्तं प्रशमनं प्रकृतिस्थापनं हितम् || (Charaka Samhita, Chikitsa Sthana 1/1/3)
The program was named Sādhanam, inspired by the Charaka Samhita. Among the many words for treatment, "Sādhanam" stands out— "instrument" or "method." Knowledge of ayurveda is a powerful tool for maintaining health and treating illness. Our goal is to train the students how to wield this tool with skill, confidence, and compassion.
Sādhanam is a 10-day residential immersion where your theoretical understanding meets the practicality. It’s where know-how becomes applied technology in a way where it is efficient, ethical, and clinical.
It is an important milestone on the path where you:
Begin translating theoretical understanding into practical application
Gain initial confidence in approaching patients with Ayurvedic insight
Experience the disciplined rhythm of a Vaidya's daily practice
Connect with peers who share your commitment to authentic healing
The daily schedule is meticulously designed to foster your professional development:
Morning Vedic Chants are utilized to establish mental and emotional equilibrium.
Small-group Explorations of shastra facilitate the synthesis of theoretical knowledge with practical comprehension.
Hands-on Sessions to understand conceptual frameworks into applicable skills, to transform conceptual frameworks.
Narratives of the Ashwini Kumaras serve as inspirational reminders of the foundational commitment to this vocation.
Evening reflections provide a mechanism to integrate the day's acquisitions into your evolving professional identity as a Vaidya.
You will experience the regimen of a Vaidya’s life as deliberate and mindful, not hurried; purposeful and vital, not merely routine.
You will grasp the essence of living as a Vaidya, not through simulated experiences, but through immersive engagement within a disciplined, structured environment that honours both the scientific rigor and the intrinsic spirit of Ayurveda.
